Consulting for Therapists
You don’t need another course to trudge through or another book to collect dust on your shelf.
You need thoughtful, individualized guidance from someone who’s been where you are.
I offer 1:1 consulting for licensed therapists who are ready to take the next step—whether that’s launching a private practice or deepening their work with neurodivergent clients. My consulting work is grounded in 15+ years as a licensed clinical social worker and my experience of running a small-but-mighty, values-aligned solo private practice.
This is not therapy, coaching, or clinical supervision—it’s professional consultation—tailored to your goals and questions, offering a thoughtful sounding board as you build skills, make decisions, and move into this next chapter with more clarity and confidence.
ADHD-Informed Consulting
Many therapists are seeing more ADHD clients now than ever—but were never trained to work with adults with ADHD in a nuanced, affirming way. Working effectively with neurodivergent clients requires more than good intentions; it means questioning outdated frameworks, appreciating complexity, and learning how ADHD truly presents in day-to-day life—not just how it’s described in textbooks and diagnostic manuals.
I consult with fully-licensed therapists working with adult ADHD clients to:
Feel more confident and effective treating adult ADHD
Understand executive function differences beyond commonly known ADHD symptoms
Adapt therapy to better fit “interest-based” (vs. importance-based) nervous systems
Support clients in both the grief + relief of a late-in-life diagnosis
Reduce frustration, stagnation, or dropout in ADHD clients
Benefits of Professional Consultation:
Perspective & Reflection: Learn how to adapt goals and interventions for ADHD brains, how executive-function differences show up in the therapy room, and how to navigate overlap with anxiety, depression, trauma, and burnout.
Practical Tools & Resources: Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all interventions, we’ll build a personalized toolkit (visuals, mantras, apps, strategies) that supports executive functioning, reduces shame, and aligns with how ADHD brains actually work.
Clinical Experience + Lived Insight: As a licensed therapist, an ADHD coach, and a middle-aged woman who has spent a lifetime trying to understand my differently wired brain (and those of my loved ones), I get it—and I’m deeply invested in helping clinicians develop a more realistic, affirming understanding of ADHD (because, frankly, the DSM criteria sucks).
Important Note: All consultation is collaborative and offered in an advisory capacity; clinical responsibility and decision-making remain with the consulting clinician.
✨ Starting Your Private Practice ✨
You’re clear you want your own practice. What’s less clear is how to start without overcomplicating things, second-guessing every decision, or burning out.
I help therapists who are ready—but want to do it right:
Finally ready to leave agency or institutional work, or a group practice
Overwhelmed by the logistics of starting a practice
Torn between “doing it right” and just getting started
Wanting a practice that aligns with their values, energy, and season of life
What we can work on together:
Clarify your niche and ideal client (without boxing yourself in)
Decide your practice model (insurance vs. private pay, virtual vs. in-person)
Set up systems that are simple and sustainable
Avoid common early-practice pitfalls
Identify and implement self-accommodations for neurodivergent, highly sensitive, and/or chronically ill clinicians
This is real-world consultation, not a step-by-step formula. We focus on what actually matters for you.
