Therapy for Pregnancy, Postpartum, & Parenting
The journey from pregnancy through postpartum can bring up feelings you didn’t expect (and may feel like you can’t say out loud). And when fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, termination, birth trauma, or health complications are part of your story, this season can feel even more complicated.
I help parents-to-be and new parents of all genders 🌈 make sense of it all with compassionate support, honest conversation, and space for the full range of emotions that the wild ride of parenthood can bring.
Perinatal-focused psychotherapy can help you feel less alone in a season that requires a lot.
Pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood can stir up more than people often admit. You may feel anxious, irritable, overwhelmed, disconnected, grieving, resentful, or unlike yourself. You may love your child deeply (and your partner, for that matter) and still feel shocked by how hard this season feels.
Therapy gives you a place to be honest about what you’re carrying without needing to minimize it, explain it away, or make it sound more “acceptable.”
What we might work on together
We’ll work together to understand how this season is affecting your thoughts, emotions, body, relationships, and sense of self.
Depending on what you’re navigating, therapy may include support with:
anxiety, depression, irritability, or emotional overwhelm
adhd & related executive function or sensory challenges
the mental load of caregiving, decision-making, and keeping everything together
intrusive thoughts, guilt, shame, or self-criticism
fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, or health complications
identity shifts and the transition into parenthood
relationship stress, resentment, communication, and division of labor
old wounds, family-of-origin patterns, or unexpected grief
perfectionism, comparison, and pressure to “enjoy every moment”
